- Eligibility and Registration
To enter, each participant must fully complete an official registration form. No purchase is necessary. Participants must provide valid identification confirming Ontario residency. To be eligible to enter or win, registration must be completed during the official registration period, from April 11 to June 6, 2026, at Paul Sadlon Motors, 550 Bayfield Street, Barrie, Ontario. Any zucchini not registered during this period will not be eligible. - Registration Deadline
Participants will not be permitted to register on measuring day. The final deadline for registration is June 6, 2026. - Seed Package Requirement
Upon registration, participants will receive a package of Sicilian Snake Long Zucchini seeds. Participants must use the seeds provided in order to grow their zucchini for the contest. - Measuring Day Submission
All participants must bring the zucchini grown from the seeds supplied by Paul Sadlon Motors to the official measuring event on September 12, 2026, no later than 3:00 p.m. - Adult Division Categories and Prizes
- The Adult Division will include the following three categories:
- Category 1: Longest Zucchini
- Category 2: Thickest Zucchini
- Category 3: Judges’ Choice
- A winner will be selected in each category on measuring day. Once all registered zucchinis have been measured and judged, the three category winners will be entered into a draw to determine the final prize placements.
- Category definitions are as follows:
- The Longest Zucchini will be the entry measuring the greatest length.
- The Thickest Zucchini will be the entry measuring the greatest girth at its thickest point.
- The Adult Division prizes are:
- Third Prize: Dinner for two at an Italian restaurant, courtesy of CHIN Radio TV International
- Second Prize: $1,500, courtesy of Paul Sadlon Motors
- Grand Prize: An all-inclusive trip for two to the 2027 CHIN Winter Picnic, courtesy of CHIN Radio TV International
- The Adult Division will include the following three categories:
- Junior Division Categories and Prizes
- The Junior Division is open to childrew fv5tegd fcn 10 years of age or younger, accompanied by a legal guardian. The Junior Division will include the following two categories:
- Category 1: Judges’ Choice
- Category 2: Most Creative Zucchini
- A winner will be selected in each category following judging of all registered junior entries presented on measuring day.
- Judges’ Choice will be awarded to the zucchini selected by the judges based on overall merit.
- Most Creative Zucchini will be awarded to the entry deemed by the judges to be the most creative.
- The Junior Division prizes are:
- Second Prize: To be confirmed.
- Grand Prize: receives a Great Wolf Lodge family package.
- Entry Limit / Past Winners
Each participant may register one entry only. Last year’s winners are not eligible to enter this year’s contest. - Official Measuring Day
Measuring day will take place on September 12, 2026, and all zucchinis must be presented for judging and measurement before 3:00 p.m. - Condition of Entry
Zucchinis must be submitted whole. Entries that are broken, cut, in pieces, or in sections will not be accepted. - Official Measurement Record
All participants whose zucchinis are officially measured will receive an official measurement from contest officials. - Adult Division Grand Prize Conditions
One (1) Adult Division Grand Prize will be awarded: a trip for two to the CHIN Winter Picnic 2027. The prize must be accepted as awarded, without cash substitution, and is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. Travel prizes may be subject to certain restrictions and conditions. No substitutions will be made except at the sole discretion of CHIN Radio, which reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Unless CHIN Radio agrees otherwise in writing, the trip prize must be used by the completion date of the 2027 CHIN Winter Picnic, failing which it will be deemed forfeited without compensation or replacement. Any and all taxes arising from acceptance of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any personal expenses associated with the use of the prize are also the responsibility of the winner. - Release of Liability
CHIN Radio/TV International, Radio 1540 Limited, Paul Sadlon Motors, and all prize sponsors (collectively, the “Contest Sponsors”) accept no responsibility or liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising from participation in this contest or the awarding, acceptance, or use of any prize. Winners, and where applicable their guests or travel companions, will be required to sign a declaration and release confirming acceptance of the prize as awarded and releasing the Contest Sponsors from any and all liability. Failure to sign the required forms may result in prize forfeiture. Winners and travel companions are solely responsible for obtaining all required travel documentation. - Winner Announcement
The Adult Division Grand Prize winner will be announced on-site at Paul Sadlon Motors on Saturday, September 12, 2026, following the completion of all measurements and judging. The three Adult Division category winners must be present on-site in order to receive the grand prize voucher. - Publicity Release
By entering the contest, all winners agree to the use of their name, likeness, city of residence, photograph, audio/video image, and statements for promotional and publicity purposes by CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors, in all forms of media, including online, without further compensation. - Entry Issues / Technical Problems
The Contest Sponsors are not responsible for late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, or improperly submitted entries, nor for any technical, electronic, or communication failures related to contest participation. - Declaration and Release Requirement
Selected entrants must sign a standard declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded, and release of liability for the Contest Sponsors. - Prize Conditions
All prizes must be accepted as awarded, without substitution, transfer, or exchange for cash, except at the sole discretion of CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors, who reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All taxes and personal expenses related to prize acceptance and use are the responsibility of the respective winners. - Prize Claim / Forfeiture
Prizes must be claimed and accepted within the time frame specified by CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors. Any prize not claimed, accepted, or used in accordance with the contest rules will be forfeited without compensation or replacement. In the event of forfeiture, an alternate winner may be selected at random from eligible entries. - Further Liability Release Radio 1540 Limited and Paul Sadlon Motors are not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising from this contest or the use of any prize. Winners must sign a release form confirming acceptance of the prize and releasing the Contest Sponsors from any related liability. Failure to sign the release may result in disqualification and prize forfeiture.
- General Eligibility
This contest is open to all residents of Ontario who are 18 years of age or older, except employees, agents, and representatives of Radio 1540 Limited, Paul Sadlon Motors, and their respective affiliates, as well as members of their immediate families or persons with whom they are domiciled. “Immediate family” includes parents, siblings, children, spouses, and common-law partners. - Right to Modify or Cancel
CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors reserve the right, without prior notice, to withdraw, terminate, or modify this contest, in whole or in part, at any time if, in their sole discretion, the contest cannot proceed as planned. - Website / Online Entry Limitations
CHIN Radio, Paul Sadlon Motors, and their website providers assume no responsibility for misdirected online entries or for any failure of the CHIN website or related systems caused by circumstances beyond their control. - Disqualification
CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors reserve the right to disqualify any individual, and/or cancel one or more entries, if that person is found to be entering by means that do not comply with the contest rules or that are unfair to other participants, including but not limited to the use of automated systems, hacking, or exceeding the permitted number of entries. - Tampering / Interference Any attempt by a participant or other individual to deliberately damage the CHIN Radio or Paul Sadlon Motors website, interfere with the entry process, or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may constitute a violation of criminal and civil laws. In such case, CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors reserve the right to seek all available remedies to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Ownership of Entries / Final Decisions
All entries become the property of CHIN Radio and Paul Sadlon Motors. All decisions made by the contest judges and sponsors regarding this contest, including judging and balloting, are final. - Acceptance of Rules
By entering this contest, each participant agrees to be bound by these official rules and regulations, as well as all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Void where prohibited.
