GM Electrification
Our new Ultium Platform will encourage drivers to convert from gasoline powered vehicles to EVs, moving us closer to a cleaner world with zero emissions or pollutants.
A new seamless way of charging
Charging Infrastructure
GM’s user-friendly charging approach, Ultium Charge 360, will merge charging networks, with brand mobile apps, and other products and services to offer a seamless experience. As our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands introduce more EVs, it’s our goal to simplify the overall charging experience for electric vehicle owners while at home or on the road.
The future of delivery is electric

We say yes to a zero-emissions future
Collaborations
A joint venture with LG Energy Solution, Ultium Cells LLC will mass-produce Ultium battery cells for EVs and create more than 1,100 new jobs In Northeast Ohio. The plant will be about the size of 30 football fields and have an annual capacity of more than 30 gigawatt hours.
The road to a sustainable future starts at Factory ZERO
Manufacturing At Scale
Factory ZERO is fully committed to manufacturing EVs and will also produce the GMC HUMMER EV and the Cruise Origin. The facility has the most advanced technology and tooling systems, designed with sustainability in mind.
Ultium EV Architecture
What is Ultium?
Introducing the Ultium Platform: Superior range, power and flexibility.
The brand-new modular Ultium Platform from General Motors’ will be the core of our sustainable future—and due to Ultium’s pouch cell design, we will easily be able to offer a wide range of EV styles and sizes.
Ultium Platform
The foundation of a modular, flexible EV lineup
With GM’s Ultium platform the ability to offer a wide range of trucks, SUVs, crossovers, cars and commercial vehicles is realised due its modular battery and drive unit combinations. Not only does it provide a platform for various vehicles but it also delivers outstanding design, performance, range and affordability.
Ultium Battery
The core of the Ultium system
With a modular, flexible design and a common cell across different vehicle types, the battery is the core of the Ultium system. For pickups and SUVs, the cells are stacked vertically and for performance vehicles the cells are stacked horizontally allowing us to build EVs regardless of what the situation calls for.
Ultium Drive
Powering our all-electric future
Ultium Drive, made up of electric motors, single-speed transmissions and their integrated power electronics, gives our EVs their power and torque.
Battery Management System
Fewer wires equal less weight and longer range
GM will be the first automaker to use an almost completely wireless battery management system for EVs. The batteries will also be easier to reuse for second-life applications because a common set of battery components will be used to power multiple types of EVs.
