Why a pre-owned Chevrolet Silverado is the Truck for you

So, as has been the case for many Canadians over the years, it’s truck time in your household. Maybe you’re starting a new business or expanding a current business; maybe it’s time to start towing more; or maybe it’s just time to add a little practicality to your driveway.

Well, look no further because no matter your taste or needs, there is a Chevrolet Silverado for you, whether you’re looking for a 2WD or 4WD truck.

Available in both standard (Silverado 1500) or heavy-duty forms (Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD), the Silverado comes in a huge variety of cab sizes and bed lengths. You can fit the whole family in the Crew Cab, get the benefit of a little extra space in the four-door double cab or just focus on work duties with a single-cab base Work Truck (WT) trim that can be had in bed lengths ranging all the way up to eight feet. You can haul plenty of plywood with a rig like that.

Throughout the years – well, throughout the decades, actually – the Silverado 1500 has been available with a number of engine choices. Most recently, buyers have been able to choose from a big 5.3-litre EcoTec V8 engine with over 350 horsepower and over 380 pound-feet of torque, a 6.2-litre V8 good for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, a fuel-sipping 2.7-litre turbo four-cylinder with 310 hp and a massive 430 lb-ft and even a stump-pulling diesel 3.0-litre six-cylinder making 460 pound-feet of torque. 2500 HD models, meanwhile, can be had with two choices of 6.6-litre V8s: one gas, and one diesel with the latter making 910 lb-ft of torque, which should be plenty to tow a boat. Or a house.

If work isn’t the main goal and you’re looking for a truck that’s also a joy to adventure with then the Trail Boss version is the vehicle for you. With off-road monotube shocks, a 2” lift as well as a hill-descent control system and two-speed transfer case (and how can we forget those massive off-road tires?), this is the truck that’s ready to take you as far as you and your family (or buddies) want to go, across all types of terrain.

With a huge variety in engines, enormous capability and the learnings of decades of building trucks for Canadians, you can’t go wrong with a Silverado.
