A Pre-owned Chevrolet SUV is A Winning Formula

Chevrolet has been a leading builder of crossovers and SUVs ever since it was those types of vehicles that started to take the industry by storm. Today, they offer seven different SUVs and crossovers to choose from, ranging from the zippy Trax to the full-size Tahoe and Suburban options. The Suburban, in fact, remains one of the longest-running nameplates in the passenger car world, dating all the way back to the 1930s. Here’s why a pre-owned Chevrolet SUV or crossover is the choice for you.

Space for Days

Sure; with its three rows of seating and huge rear cargo area, the Suburban will haul you and your family (or hockey team, or dance troupe, or…circus) with ease, but let’s not forget that with their smart design and interior packaging, all Chevy SUVs and crossovers are leaders when it comes to interior space. If you’re an active couple that likes to travel with a four-legged friend, the high-roofed Trailblazer compact is a great choice. If you’re a family of four but don’t need the full-size footprint of the Tahoe or Suburban, then a two-row Equinox or three-row Traverse is the perfect fit. If you want something more athletic, take a look at the Blazer with its Camaro-like stylistic touches.

Features Galore

In addition to great styling and performance, Chevrolet SUVs and crossovers come with the features you need for your family and friends to be as comfortable and connected as possible while in your Chevrolet. On-board Wi-Fi, MyLink infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heads-up displays and tri-zone climate control on some models all contribute to Chevrolets routinely being leaders in the world of comfort and connectivity.

And how could we forget about…

OnStar to the Rescue

OnStar technology is here to help you find where you need to go, offer roadside assistance consultation or to provide a comforting voice no matter how far you are from home. A number of plans are available for any Chevrolet SUV or crossover, whether pre-owned or new. With the Safety and Security plan, OnStar will respond for you in the event of a crash and if your vehicle gets stolen, OnStar will help you find it. With the Connected Vehicle plan, you can use your phone to find and start your Chevrolet and with the OnStar Guardian app, OnStar has you covered even when you’re not in your Chevy.

Why a pre-owned Chevrolet Silverado is the Truck for you

So, as has been the case for many Canadians over the years, it’s truck time in your household. Maybe you’re starting a new business or expanding a current business; maybe it’s time to start towing more; or maybe it’s just time to add a little practicality to your driveway.

Well, look no further because no matter your taste or needs, there is a Chevrolet Silverado for you, whether you’re looking for a 2WD or 4WD truck.

Available in both standard (Silverado 1500) or heavy-duty forms (Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD), the Silverado comes in a huge variety of cab sizes and bed lengths. You can fit the whole family in the Crew Cab, get the benefit of a little extra space in the four-door double cab or just focus on work duties with a single-cab base Work Truck (WT) trim that can be had in bed lengths ranging all the way up to eight feet. You can haul plenty of plywood with a rig like that.

Throughout the years – well, throughout the decades, actually – the Silverado 1500 has been available with a number of engine choices. Most recently, buyers have been able to choose from a big 5.3-litre EcoTec V8 engine with over 350 horsepower and over 380 pound-feet of torque, a 6.2-litre V8 good for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, a fuel-sipping 2.7-litre turbo four-cylinder with 310 hp and a massive 430 lb-ft and even a stump-pulling diesel 3.0-litre six-cylinder making 460 pound-feet of torque. 2500 HD models, meanwhile, can be had with two choices of 6.6-litre V8s: one gas, and one diesel with the latter making 910 lb-ft of torque, which should be plenty to tow a boat. Or a house.

If work isn’t the main goal and you’re looking for a truck that’s also a joy to adventure with then the Trail Boss version is the vehicle for you. With off-road monotube shocks, a 2” lift as well as a hill-descent control system and two-speed transfer case (and how can we forget those massive off-road tires?), this is the truck that’s ready to take you as far as you and your family (or buddies) want to go, across all types of terrain.

With a huge variety in engines, enormous capability and the learnings of decades of building trucks for Canadians, you can’t go wrong with a Silverado.

This is the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray boasts a new front-mounted electric motor that pushes total output to 655 horsepower, making the E-Ray the most powerful Corvette ever built.

The new Corvette C8 generation made quite a splash when it was introduced a few years ago, and now we get the very first hybrid version called the E-Ray. This electrified Vette is pushing the boundaries of what a performance car can be. From its advanced technology to its efficient powertrain, this Corvette changes the game and offers something you won’t find in any other supercar in this price range.

A powerful hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive

The heart of the E-Ray is an incredible 6.2-liter pushrod V-8 engine, capable of 495 hp, with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that feeds the rear wheels. Completing the hybrid setup is a front-mounted electric motor with 160 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft. of torque, as well as an E-Ray specific oil cooler located behind the driver’s side front bumper. This innovative all-wheel drive set up allows for a total output of 655 hp, making the E-Ray one of the most powerful performance cars available on the market and certainly in its price range.

With its all-wheel-drive traction and instant electric torque, the E-Ray takes Corvette performance to new heights. Its responsive acceleration makes it the fastest factory-built Vette ever, with a 0–60 mph (0-97 km/h) time of 2.5 seconds—just one tenth shy of the targa-topped Z06’s 2.6 seconds—and a quarter mile time of 10.5 seconds, matching the Z06’s record. We expect that when the official 0-100 km/h times are out, the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray will also top the Z06’s posted time. To top it off, the electric motor is geared out for high speeds, allowing for speeds up to 289 km/h. Experience the ultimate in performance with the E-Ray today!

The E-Ray is equipped with a small 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery that powers the permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor, as well as a 12-volt lithium-ion battery that supports the V8’s stop-start function and other accessories. All this power is contained in a center tunnel separating both passengers, weighing approximately 100 lbs with 80 pouches supplied by LG and assembled by GM.

This compact battery size is why the E-Ray isn’t plug-in hybrid; rather, it has been designed to rapidly charge and discharge itself when needed. The six selectable drive modes provide different levels of electric assist, while Charge+ mode maximizes the battery’s state of charge for those driving longer distances.

The E-Ray’s hybrid powertrain is accompanied by a multitude of exclusive features, as well as components commonly associated with the hardcore Z06. Not only does this hybrid boast with at an impressive 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray’s, but also comes armed with carbon-ceramic brakes for superior stopping power.

The E-Ray’s electric motor has an open diff and uses brake-based torque vectoring, focusing more on performance than efficiency. Though the hybrid will be the most fuel-efficient Corvette at the pump, the main objective of the new E-Ray is to use electrification to achieve even more impressive levels of power and performance.

The new 2024 Corvette E-Ray arrives on the market later this year and it promises to exceed expectations. Give us a call today to learn more about the new E-Ray. You won’t be disappointed.

The differences between front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive

Ontario’s changing weather conditions always require motorists to adapt. You’ve undoubtedly heard about the different types of drivetrains available on the market and how they can impact your vehicle’s handling in different weather conditions. There are rear-wheel drive vehicles, front-wheel drive vehicles and all-wheel drive vehicles in the new Chevrolet lineup, for example, and each has different properties and will perform differently in winter. Here we briefly explain how each system works.

FWD: fuel efficient and good in winter

With a vehicle equipped with front-wheel drive, power is sent to the front wheels exclusively. Because there are fewer moving parts to channel power from the engine to the wheels, this drivetrain is more fuel efficient than other drivetrains. It is found in the Chevrolet Bolt EV or certain versions of the Chevrolet Trailblazer or Chevrolet Blazer SUVs, among others. Having front-wheel drive is also more beneficial in winter than a rear-wheel drive, for example.

Rear-wheel drive: for sports cars and trucks

Rear-wheel drive means that the rear wheels are driven. This has performance advantages and creates a much more engaging drive overall. The legendary Chevrolet Corvette, one of the best-handling cars ever built, is a RWD vehicle. Rear-wheel drive vehicles also offer better towing capability. A 4×2 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra HD, for example, will offer better towing capacity than a 4×4 equivalent.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD)

All-wheel drive offers the best of both worlds. It offers the frugality of a front-wheel drive car when you’re on the highway, with the ability to adapt as traction is needed. This is as beneficial on snowy roads as it is when you’re making tight turns on dry roads.

Chevrolet’s all-wheel drive system works to give you the best performance in any situation while also ensuring optimal efficiency. Chevrolet’s AWD system provides superior traction and vehicle control in adverse driving environments, such as wet or snowy conditions, by reducing torque to a wheel where slippage is detected and diverting it to a wheel with greater traction.

The system is also able to improve handling and cornering on dry roads, providing additional control in turns by sending torque to the outside wheel that experiences traction-enhancing downforce, instead of the inside wheel.

Whether you’re looking for front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, Chevrolet has plenty of choices for you. You can purchase your vehicle online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.

2023 GMC Sierra or 2023 Ram 1500: three reasons to choose GMC

When it comes to choosing a full-size pickup truck on the market, the decision is not easy. All of the models available have strengths that are worth looking at. You can’t make a bad choice. However, you may regret it if you find out later that you didn’t choose the best model in the category.

And that model is the GMC Sierra. Here are three reasons why it should be selected before a Ram 1500.

Capabilities

When it comes to towing, the Sierra 1500 has the advantage. It has a maximum capacity of 13,200 pounds, while the Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds. For hauling a load in the bed, the Sierra 1500 can accommodate 1570 pounds while the Ram 1500’s payload is 1242 pounds.

Obviously, you can make the numbers speak for themselves from one version to the next, but if you tow frequently and carry equipment in your bed, it will be easier to do so with the GMC Sierra.

Luxury and technology

The Ram was the model that raised the bar in the segment when it came to luxury. GMC responded brilliantly, so that it now offers the most luxurious and technologically advanced model.

Some examples. THE SLT version of the Sierra 1500 comes with a 13.4-inch center touchscreen with built-in Google, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly, as well as a 12.3-inch driver information display. In comparison, the equivalent Ram can be equipped with a 12-inch center screen and a 7-inch driver information screen.

As for the top-of-the-line versions of both models, they come with rich leather seats and real wood trim, but the new Denali Ultimate in the GMC Sierra 1500 includes front seats with 16-way power adjustment and a massage feature. The Ram 1500 Limited has 8-way power front seats and four-way power lumbar support.

Now it’s the one to catch up to the Sierra in terms of luxury.

Personality

Once again, Ram has long been the pickup with the most character on the market. With the new generation introduced a few years ago, this is less the case. Conversely, GMC has made incredible efforts in recent years to make its models stand out on the road. Compare the lines today. You’ll find that at GMC, each offering has its own style and a strong, unique image. At Ram, with a few exceptions, there are more similarities between the models and, in general, more assertiveness at GMC.

Really, the GMC Sierra 1500 is THE model to consider in this category. Take it for a test drive and you’ll see just how much of a detour it is.

It features a range of technologies designed to take it further off the beaten path and make sure you don’t get stuck in the mud. The ZR2’s powertrain and suspension are more aggressive than those found in other models, as well as its 33-inch all-terrain tires that enable better traction when driving on rougher terrain. In addition, its 11.2 inches of ground clearance allow it to traverse steep hills and valleys with ease.

The Bison package includes unique exterior styling cues like AEV-stamped steel front and rear bumpers with integrated tow hooks as well as unique wheels, among many other features. There are also more underbody body panels to further protect the Silverado ZR2 in very difficult situations.

The Silverado ZR2 comes standard with an impressive 6.2-litre V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It delivers 8,900 pounds of towing capability, more than the RAM TRX or Ford F-150 Raptor.

Despite its advanced off-road capability, the Silverado ZR2 is still quite luxurious as a daily driver

The Silverado ZR2 is a truck capable of tackling the most rugged terrain, but it still has an impressive interior that can be enjoyed on road trips. The cabin features an electric power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, remote vehicle start and a heated steering wheel. The centre console comes standard with USB ports for charging devices or listening to music through your smartphone.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered as well as the latest generation of Google Built-in infotainment, which allows you to use Google Assistant voice commands for everything from navigation directions to playing music from Amazon Music Unlimited or Spotify.

What sets the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer apart?

When the Chevrolet Trailblazer first hit the market, there were many skeptics. GM was bringing back a name from the past, but with a model that really had nothing to do with the one that once bore that name.

And the fact that the model was advertised with turbocharged 3-cylinder engines left everyone with many questions.

They were all answered quickly, and with panache. In fact, it was the Trailblazer that took care of them with the quality and enjoyment it delivers.

Basically, all you have to do is get behind the wheel to understand, which we strongly encourage you to do.

Until you see it, here are a few things that set this vehicle apart.

Styling

Not so long ago, the design of most SUVs was rather simple. The emotion you might feel when looking at a sports car was simply not there. Things have changed throughout the industry, starting with the way things are done at Chevrolet. When the Blazer was introduced, we had an idea of what we could do.

The Trailblazer follows the same philosophy, but with a style that’s absolutely stunning. In fact, it feels like you’re looking at a highly sporty SUV because its lines are so sleek, aggressive and inviting.

The powertrains

The powertrains, which initially worried skeptics, both turned out to be very nice surprises. Both are 3-cylinder engines, with 1.2 and 1.3 liter blocks. In the first case, the power is 137 horsepower, the torque 162 lb-ft. That’s amazing. In the second, we’re talking 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.

What is most surprising is the flexibility with which these mills work. Definitely worth a try.

The ride

Most subcompact SUVs are there to offer buyers a practical solution: space, all-wheel drive and a smooth ride. The Trailblazer also offers a dynamic driving experience that allows for a committed drive. It really allows the model to offer a little something more than its rivals in the class.

All in all, when you put this vehicle’s benefits together, you’re looking at a must-have model.

2023 Chevrolet Blazer vs. 2023 Honda Passport: Which is the better SUV?

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer and the 2023 Honda Passport are both mid-size sporty SUVs. They are both great choices, but the refreshed Blazer is the better SUV out of the two, according to us, for multiple reasons. Here’s a comparison of the two SUVs and why we think the Blazer is the superior choice.

Design

The Blazer has a more modern and sleek design than the Passport. The front end of the Blazer is especially sleek, with LED daytime running lights and chrome accents. The body of the Blazer is also more aerodynamic than the Passport. In addition, the Blazer’s new front fascia, grille design, LED headlamps and taillamps give it a more modern appearance that is sure to turn heads while driving.

Performance

The Blazer has a 3.6L V6 engine with 305 horsepower, while the Honda Passport has a 3.5L V6 engine with 280 horsepower, making the Chevy Blazer the better choice in terms of power output. Additionally, the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer also offers more torque than the Passport, giving it an extra boost when accelerating.

Safety and Technology

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer has a host of advanced safety features that are not available on the Honda Passport. This includes HD Surround Vision, pedestrian detection, Teen Driver, and OnStar.

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer also has more advanced technology features than the Passport, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additionally, the interior of the Blazer looks much nicer with its higher-quality materials, which brings us to our next point.

Interior

The Blazer has a nicer, more premium interior than the Passport. The materials used in the Blazer’s interior are of higher quality, and there are more luxury features, such as heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and a hands-free power liftgate. In contrast, the interior of the Passport feels more utilitarian. It’s not a bad interior by any means, but it doesn’t match up to the elegance of the Blazer.

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer is a better SUV than the 2023 Honda Passport. It has a more stylish exterior design, a nicer interior with luxury features, and slightly better performance thanks to its higher horsepower and torque levels. If you’re shopping for a mid-size sporty SUV, put the refreshed Chevrolet Blazer at the top of your list – you won’t be disappointed. Contact us to learn more about the 2023 Blazer and to take it for a test drive.

Chevrolet Silverado High Country: when the pickup becomes a limousine

We won’t hide it, when we imagine ourselves dreaming about our next vehicle, we imagine it very well equipped so that we can live excellent moments aboard it.

With pickups, this was less the case in the past, because we were mainly looking for capabilities. These are of course present in today’s models, but they are no longer enough to differentiate a brand. That’s why, for the past few years, every manufacturer in the segment has been coming up with versions that are just as luxurious as the others. The goal is to impress the gallery.

At Chevrolet, we won’t lie to you, we were impressed with the High Country variant of the new generation model. However, we were doubly impressed with its features.

The big luxury

With the High Country model of the Chevrolet Silverado, you’re getting your hands on nothing less than luxury. This is evident when you climb aboard, as you sit on high-quality leather seats not usually found in a full-size pickup. Then, if you let your fingers roam the interior, you’ll notice that the leather is enhanced by the presence of high quality stitching.

Of course, there are plenty of adjustments for these seats and the driving position is perfect.

Once you’re behind the wheel, you can also tell you’re somewhere else by the open-port wood trim on the dashboard. I don’t need to tell you how much this adds to the nobility of the interior. Add to that the impeccable assembly quality and you realize that you are on board a product of great luxury.

The equipment

Of course, all this quality would be futile without the equipment worthy of the name. There’s nothing to worry about here, because the Chevrolet Silverado High Country has everything you need, starting with a complete technological package. That starts with a 13.4-inch screen in the center console, which houses one of the easiest-to-use multimedia systems in the industry. This of course offers compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps, but it offers wireless connectivity with them. Also, there’s no need to use a wire to charge your cell phone. And once you’re plugged in and settled in, you can enjoy your favorite rooms in peace thanks to the high-quality Bose sound system. The system hides seven speakers throughout the cabin.

An interesting detail is the sliding window that separates the cabin from the bed, which is electrically operated in a High Country version. It is also possible to enjoy a sunroof with this model. When we say that nothing is missing…

Under the hood

Finally, one of the things that goes unnoticed and that is interesting with the Chevrolet Silverado High Country is the fact that you have the choice between two engines under the hood. You’re not forced into one powertrain. If you want the full package, you can opt for the 6.2-liter V8 and its 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. That’s your decision.

However, if you want a very powerful engine with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, but a little more economical at the pump, you can also take advantage of the 5.3-liter V8 that comes standard with this model.

But that’s not all. If it’s the diesel powertrain you’re after, you can opt for the 3.0-liter inline-6 (turbo). With 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, towing has never been easier.

Choice like never before, unmatched quality and equipment to spare, that’s what you get with a High Country version of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado.

Powertrain Choice

What’s better than having a little choice? That’s what you get with the High Country version of the Chevrolet Silverado. As standard, the vehicle is served with the 5.3-liter engine, the most economical V8 block in the class. If its 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque are to your liking, you’ll be pleased. If you want more, you can opt for the 6.2-liter V8, a block that offers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Three things you should know about the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV

Chevrolet is excited to introduce the all-new Equinox EV! The Equinox EV is a new, affordable all-electric SUV designed to help families transition to an EV. It has a starting price of around $35,000 and is expected to be the most affordable EV in its class. It will also be available with up to an estimated 482 km of range on a full charge.

The Chevrolet Equinox EV was designed with style, space, safety, and value in mind. The gas-powered Equinox is already one of Chevy’s best-selling models, and the designers and engineers wanted to make an even better version with expressive design, electrifying capability, and effortless EV technology.

482 km of range

Offered in both FWD and eAWD, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be available in five distinct trims: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 2RS and 3RS. That said, all of them will achieve a GM-estimated 482 km of range on a full charge with the front-wheel drive configuration. The 2024 Equinox FWD will push 210 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the 290-horsepower and 346 lb-ft torque eAWD version will still be able to cover an impressive 450 km between each charge.

Starting price of $35,000

The Equinox EV will have a starting price of around $35,000, making it the most affordable EV in its class. Chevrolet is expecting the Equinox EV to be a big hit with families, as it offers many of the same features and amenities as its gas-powered counterpart but at a much more affordable price point.

“The Equinox EV is an EV for everyone,” said Bell. “It’s an affordable game-changer, offering an uncompromising experience, with more features, that won’t change your daily routine — except that you will no longer have to stop at the gas station.”

Impressive safety features

The Chevy Equinox is already one of the safest SUVs on the road, and the all-new Equinox EV is no different. Families place a high value on safety, and Chevrolet’s Equinox EV boasts a range of impressive features as standard. It comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, Rear Park Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, Safety Alert Seat, Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Blind Zone Steering Assist.

There are several driver assistance technologies available, including Adaptive Cruise Control, HD Surround Vision, Rear Camera Mirror, and Head-Up Display. Also available is Super Cruise, the industry’s first true hands-free driver assistance system.

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be available in dealerships starting in late 2023. Will you be getting one? Contact us today to learn more!
